Senior Master Mitchell VIII Dan

Short Biography

Senior Master Mitchell VIII Dan became involved in Taekwon-Do in the early 1970's. He travels the world attending seminars and officiating at international events. Master Mitchell was a former coordinator of the business of the School of Taekwon-Do in the city of Oxford. He has hosted several national and international championships and Training Seminars to date.

Now Master Mitchell has joined OMAA to pass on his knowledge and experience. He is committed to fulfilling his duties and responsibilities. To achieve these goals, his philosophy has been to remain focused, open and available for consultation and discussion when promoting the art of Taekwon-Do and Martial Arts.

Senior Master Mitchell VIII Dan is:

  • President of CaribbeanTaekwon-Do Federation;
  • Honorary President Grenada Taekwon-Do Association;
  • Founder member of the African Taekwon-Do Association;
  • Vice President of Pan Am Taekwon-Do Council;
  • Executive Board Member of the International Tae Kwon-Do Federation (ITF);
  • Former coordinator of the Business of the School of Tae Kwon-Do in Oxford.

  • Experience of Karate: Kyushindo Karate; Shotokan karate; Goju Karate
  • Thai Boxing experience

Achievements:

  • 1999: Outstanding International Instructor of the Year
  • 1992: Retired from competition and became Official Umpire and Referee with ITF
  • 1982-1992: Competed around UK and internationally winning many different competitions including English Open, English Championships Welsh and BTC
  • 1990: World Championship (Montreal) - 7th
  • 1988: BTC Heavy Weight Finalist Silver Medal
  • 1987: English Champion Heavy weight sparring and power
  • 1986: English overall Champion
  • 1985: UK Sparring Champion
  • 1984: European Championships Hungary silver medal
